What Does "Clinically Correct" Really Mean?

At PVL, we define clinically correct as scientifically accurate. PROH2O is designed to match the sodium-potassium ratios and concentrations found in the W.H.O. ORS formula (WHO/FCH/CAH/06.1)—a global standard for effective rehydration.

How Does PROH2O Hydrate Faster Than Water Alone?

Water hydrates. But water + sodium + sugar hydrates faster.

Since the 1960s, research has shown that your body absorbs fluids faster through a sodium-glucose transport mechanism—essentially a “pump” in your small intestine that accelerates hydration by pulling electrolytes and water into your bloodstream.

But we took it further: Instead of sugar, we use select amino acids (especially L-glutamine) to activate this transport system, achieving rapid hydration without sugar or carbs.

Why Sodium is the Key to Hydration

Sodium is the most critical electrolyte lost through sweat. The body can lose anywhere from 125 mg to 430 mg of sodium per 250 ml of sweat during exercise. PROH2O delivers 430 mg of sodium per scoop, aligning with the higher end of clinical recommendations for maximum rehydration efficiency.
